LINE-UP
CFG BOWL CHALLENGE will use statistics from the top PLAYERS in the bowl games, not just teams. Using statistics from players allows you to truly form your own college fantasy football team. Root for the top All-Americans or those small-team secret weapons in each bowl game.
Before the start of the first bowl game (Dec. 20, 2005), you will select your line-up based on who you think will put up the big numbers.
Once the bowl game match-ups are announced (on-or-around Dec. 10, 2005), we will post a "Bowl Game Player Database", which will include all the top players involved among every bowl game. This is the player database that you will use to select your line-up.
Your total line-up will consist of:
4 Quarterbacks
4 Running Backs
4 Wide Receivers
2 Tight Ends
3 Kickers
4 Defense/Special Teams
You will have until the kickoff of the first bowl game (Dec. 20, 2005) to submit your entire line up. This will be your set line-up throughout the bowl season.
Scoring, statistics, and standings will be updated and posted every few days after the first bowl game. You can check how your team is doing, compare against other teams, and view everyone else's roster. This way, you can keep track of which players you have left compared to other teams in the league!
SCORING
Your goal is to score as many total fantasy points as possible. Team points are accumulated throughout the bowl season. At seasons' end (early January 2006), the top teams with the most points win the CASH…that simple. Your line-up will be scored as followed:
Offense:
Passing Touchdown = 5 points
Passing Yards = 0.05 points per yard
Passing 2-pt Conversion = 2 points
Rushing Touchdown = 6 points
Rushing Yards = 0.1 points per yard
Rushing 2-pt Conversion = 2 points
Receiving Touchdown = 6 points
Receiving Yards = 0.1 points per yard
Receiving 2-pt Conversion = 2 points
Kicking:
Extra Point = 1 point
Field Goal = 3 points (44 yards or less)
Field Goal = 4 points (45 yards or more)
Defense & Special Teams:
Touchdown = 6 points
Turnover Recovery = 2 points
Sack = 1 point
Safety = 4 points
Shutout = 8 points
Offensive players who score special teams points will count towards your scoring, even if you did not select their Team Defense (Example: One of your WR's scores a punt return TD. You will get 6 points. The Team Defense will also get 6 points for the same score, etc).
